The Baton Rouge Fly In will take place on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 10am – 1pm. The Baton Rouge EAA Chapter 244 will host the fly-in at Baton Rouge Metro Airport (KBRT) (map).  The Baton Rouge Metro Airport is sponsoring the fly-in.  The warehouse (previous FedEx bldg.) on the west side of the field just south of the main terminal will be the site. All pilots and aviation enthusiasts are welcome to join the event from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm for plane-talk, static displays, great door prizes, free drinks and barbeque.

Car Show

Event promoters are hoping to have a car show and model airplanes displayed. If you have a car you would like to show it, bring it!  The KBRT Control tower will be offering tours of the tower if anyone is interested. The hours will be from 10AM-1PM.

In-bound Pilots and Aircraft

Pilots flying in are reminded that KBTR is located inside Class C airspace and requires radio contact and a transponder. ATC will give you help on your arrival. Just give BTR Approach a call about 25 – 30 nm. from KBTR and tell them you’re coming to the fly-in. If your transponder is not functioning, report “negative transponder” and “request Class C entry—landing BTR”.

Taxi Procedures

After landing, contact ground control (121.9) and “request progressive to the fly-in site” on the west side of the field. Baton Rouge ATIS: 125.2 Baton Rouge Approach: 120.3 (west) or 126.5 (east) Baton Rouge Tower: 118.45 Baton Rouge Ground: 121.9

For Those Driving In
