Most Philanthropic Business
Guidance Aviation
Guidance Aviation was named the City of Prescott’s Most Philanthropic Business for organizations with more than 50 employees.
Since 2007, Guidance Aviation has donated in excess of $580,000. These philanthropic efforts include cash, aircraft, equipment, and in-kind flight donations, including the donation of a Robinson R44 helicopter to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) to support the YCSO Search and Rescue (SAR) program. To date, the SAR program and helicopter have saved dozens of lives.
Guidance Aviation has also donated nearly $30,000 to the Yavapai College Foundation.
The AgustaWestland Safety Excellence Award

Guidance Aviation’s former Manager of Flight Operations, Chris Horton was awarded the prestigious Helicopter Association International’s AgustaWestland Safety Excellence Award for his work promoting and teaching safety practices throughout the international aviation community.

In 2013 Guidance Aviation President and CEO John Stonecipher was named the Business Person of the Year, 2013 by the United States Small Business Administration, Washington, D.C.

Maintenance Technician of the Year

The Federal Aviation Administration, State of Arizona named Guidance Aviation’s former Director of Maintenance Jason Kidd Maintenance Technician of the Year.
The General Aviation Awards Program is a cooperative effort between the Federal Aviation Administration and aviation industry sponsors to recognize annually outstanding individuals in the fields of Avionics, Flight Instruction, and Maintenance. In addition, the program recognizes outstanding individuals serving the FAA Safety Team (FAASTeam) as representatives.
The awards highlight the important roles these individuals play in promoting aviation safety, education, and professionalism.
