Veterans Using Post 9-11 GI Bill Benefits to Become Professional Helicopter Pilots Land Jobs in Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Helicopter Flight Students Begin In-Flight Training

This week at Baton Rouge Community College, helicopter flight training operations, students began the highly anticipated flying portion of the program.  After completing some of the necessary helicopter ground school and helicopter simulation training, students got their first feel for “hands-on in the cockpit” as their flights began to take off from Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport (KBTR).

Some of the newly arrived Robinson R44 helicopters were busy as students began receiving in-flight instruction.  In addition to BRCC Flight Instructors, WAFB TV News Correspondent Kelsey Davis was on hand to cover the students’ excitement of this highly anticipated day.  Check out the VIDEO HERE and pictures below.
